Steps to Take

1. Meet with contractor, establish scope of work. Contact an architect to complete your plans. Give the contractor a copy of plans to bid on.  You will receive a proposal.

2. Go over proposal with contractor, make changes as needed.

3. Proposal now becomes exhibit “B”.

4. Agree on the price of exhibit “B”.

5. Sign contract, a home owner has a 3-day right to cancel contract. The right to cancel expires when the work begins.

6. K-mag will pull building permits before the work starts. Building permit fees are paid by the home owner.

7. Work shall start within twenty days from the time building permits are approved.

8. Payment schedule, biweekly on work that has been completed. Invoices and budget updates are e-mailed out the night before payment.
